Nationwest staff are here to help you all the way with your loan application. We aim to make the loan process as easy as possible. Applying is easy, We can assist you over the phone, or if you live in the Perth or the Kalgoorlie region we will be happy to make a home visit, to cover all aspects of the loan process. We also have two conveniently located branches one at Midland Gate Shopping Centre and the other on Albany Hwy in Kelmscott.
At Nationwest we cut paperwork to a minimum. If your self employed this can be a great time saver, and take the headache out of applying for a loan.
Stages of the loan process:
- Application
- Conditional Approval
- Valuation
- Lenders Mortgage Insurance
- Formal Approval
- First Homebuyers Grant Approval (if Applicable)
- Signing of Loan Offer and Mortgage Documents
- Settlement
- Receive ATM card and Pin (if selected)
- Loan payments begin (1 month after settlement)
First Home Owner's Grant
If you are buying your first home you may be eligible to receive the first home owner's grant which is currently a payment of $7000. The grant is not income tested, and can be made available at the settlement of the house you are purchasing. This is a great advantage as it is available, to help pay your settlement costs or go towards your deposit.
The grant covers only the purchase of your first home in Australia. If you are married or living in a defacto relationship, you must make a joint application for the grant with your spouse or de facto. Neither of you can have owned a home previously, whether individually or with any other person.
You will be eligible to apply if you:
- are buying or building your first home
- are an Australian citizen or Permanent resident
- intend to make the home you principal residence, and start living in the home within 1 year.
Nationwest have a supply of the first home buyer forms and can submit the application for the grant with your loan application. If you would like to check your eligibility the Government has set up a web site at www.firsthome.gov.au.
Most State Governments also offer discounts on Stamp duty for first homebuyers. Your Nationwest Staff member can assist with information on these programs. Remember we are here to help!
